It is important to determine how much of a monthly payment you wish to make on a home before you start to look. Sit down and really look at your income and expenses then set a maximum budget amount for buying a home.
Research Areas to Live
You will want to do some research on the area(s) you wish to live. What are the average property taxes? Will you be in a flood zone? What are the average homeowner’s insurance rates? What school district would you be zoned for? What is rush hour traffic like? These are all questions that can be answered to help you rule in and rule out areas to live.
